WARNING:

The built-in web browser player is SIGNIFICANTLY less performant and feature packed as the windows download. I would personally recommend playing the download version.

UnsteadyFast Pitch Video

About the game:

UnsteadyFast is a first person 3D technical platformer that aims to target high skill PC players. Opposed to the traditional technical platformer genre that rewards highly precise but speed independent gameplay, UnsteadyFast requires players to execute precisely yet quickly to clear the level in time. To move in an optimal fashion players are forced to move quickly in a strafing bunny hopping pattern to conserve momentum and speed.

Backstory:

However this game would be nothing new if it were not for its most innovative game mechanic, the input switching zones. In this game when you walk into a red lit zone you enter what is known as the Left Right reversed state. During the red zone, your right and left mouse movement is reversed or inverted. During the blue zone your up down movement is reversed or inverted. Throughout the level the player has to constantly adapt to the changing input while racing against the clock!

Imagine you are stuck in a flooding crumbling parking lot and a hurricane coming in is not getting any smaller. How did you get stuck in this situation? You are in a daze… something must have hit you on your head. Your once steadfast legs are giving out. Thinking back to earlier in the day you remember that there is going to be an extraction helicopter. But you need to get to somewhere high off the ground and get out of here alive. With the sole goal of reaching the helicopter before it leaves you follow the path of the lights and start sprinting forward. But it seems like you have been drugged with something as your body has suddenly acquired superhero like abilities. Now you can run faster, jump higher and stick to walls. However, you notice one weird thing. Sometimes the colors randomly change, and you become disoriented. However, in order to persevere and safely get rescued you must adapt on the fly and continue on. As you progress you can see the end at sight, the helicopter hovering in the distance. Are your parkour skills good enough to make it out in time?

Controls:

[Esc] key to pause enter the pause menu of the game In the pause menu you can reset the level, reset to last checkpoint, and change mouse look sensitivity

[Spacebar/Left Click] to jump off flat ground or to jump off the wall run state. Players have significantly increased speed while midair.

[A / D] keys move the player horizontally left and right and also increase the player's overall speed significantly. The constant strafing of the A / D keys is essential to maintain the speed required to clear all obstacles. Wall running is accomplished by holding the A or D key close and parallel to a wall. The A key is for wall running on walls to your left and the D key is for wall running on walls to your right.

[Mouse panning] When wallrunning looking up and down with your mouse will move you up and down the wall While midair look up to have slightly more airtime and look down to fast fall. The core mechanism in this game is the input switching modes in the game. When entering a red zone your left and right look inputs are reversed! When entering a blue zone your up and down inputs are reversed!

This game is very technical and difficult for most players. So do not get discouraged if you cannot accomplish and clear every obstacle in a couple of tries.

[R] Hard reset the level hotkey.

Tips and Tricks:

-Speed is everything, the player has less drag in the air when compared to on the ground so maximize your momentum by chaining jumps or B-hopping.

-If you can't make a jump, you can zig zag or turn around before the jump to build up speed and momentum.
